University. Every science, Technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
class taught in every university in the world requires that
students learn the subject either through reading or
listening/observing a teacher. With few exceptions, students in
these classes are expected to learn how to work out problems,
manipulate mathematical formulas, and find an answer or explanation
to questions posed by the teacher. It is almost always assumed
implicitly that students can see and understand text, math
formulas, charts, graphs, and diagrams. This makes STEM education a
daunting challenge for students having serious print disabilities
(i.e. students who are blind, severely visually impaired, or
severely dyslexic) ...
